Campfire Sing-a-long with Chip and Dale at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge

·

One of the few places you can meet Disney characters without paying admission to a theme park is Chip ‘n Dale’s Campfire Sing-a-long, located at Fort Wilderness Lodge Resort. At this event, you will meet Chip and Dale and sing along to popular Disney songs.

On our most recent trip to Florida, we meet Chip and Dale. If you are not a guest of Fort Wilderness Lodge, it takes a little bit of effort; the Chip ‘n Dale Campfire Sing-a-long is open to anyone, but it can be done. We stayed off-property, parked at Disney Springs and took the bus to Fort Wilderness Lodge. From there, we took Fort Wilderness Lodge’s internal bus system to the Meadow Depot bus stop and walked past the pool to the outdoor movie and fire pit area.

When we arrived, Chip and Dale were out playing lawn games with a handful of children. My kids happily joined in, and we briefly met Chip and Dale. The characters went inside to take a break, and we ate dinner.

We grabbed a yummy dinner from the Chuck Wagon, an adorable RV converted into a food truck. (I forgot to take a picture!) They serve sandwiches, salads, snacks, and s’mores ingredients for the campfire. We brought our s’more ingredients, so the boys were thrilled to roast marshmallows once they lit the fire.

After roasting marshmallows and eating s’mores, a Disney cast member led the crowd in a few classic songs and was joined by Chip ‘n Dale for a few more fun, interactive songs. Chip ‘n Dale, led by a cast member, was shown around to have their picture taken with each family. The sing-a-long ended with the Mickey Mouse Club Song with the fun addition of Chip ‘n Dale’s name added into it.

Directly after the sing-a-long, a brief cartoon played on the big screen before the outdoor movie. We stayed to watch the cartoon but unfortunately had to leave before Monsters Inc. started because we had a long trek back to the car and then home. It was a late night but a ton of fun, and I recommend checking it out if you get the chance.
