Strawberry Picking at Pope’s Farm – Knightdale, NC

· ·

One of the things I love about living right outside of Raleigh, NC is the proximity to all things city and country. A short drive one way and we can dine at one of the best restaurants in the U.S., drive just a few minutes in the other direction and we can pick our own food straight from the farm.

Every spring I love to take the boys to pick strawberries from the local strawberry farm, Pope’s Farm. It’s a family owned farm that opens a few weeks a year for people to come pick their own strawberries. You have to watch for the signs on the side of the road or visit their Facebook page to know when the berries are ripe and ready to be picked.

The boys load up their buckets with red, ripe, juicy berries that will give us pounds of berries for days. You pay, cash only, per pound and we can usually rack up $20+ worth of berries in just a few minutes.

The boys love picking and eating the berries, I love all the fun strawberry recipes I get to make like strawberry chia jam.
