How do you spend a hot and sunny summer day?
We like to spend the day at Wet-n-Wild Emerald Pointe in Greensboro, NC. Last Saturday we went to Wet-n-Wild with some friends and had a blast.
We had a private cabana along the left side of the wave pool which provided a safe and shaded place for our family to rest between activities. The cabana came equipped with lounge chairs, a table and 6 chairs, a safe and easy access drinks to purchase, plus personal waitstaff.
This was our 3rd trip to Wet-n-Wild Emerald Pointe so we first visited our favorite spots like the wave pool, soak zone, splash island, happy harbor and lazee river. The sky started to look ominous as we got in line for the lazy river and the bottom fell out as we were halfway around the river. Since we were already wet we just kept going and had peace of mind knowing our stuff was safe and dry in the cabana.
The big boys kept eyeing The Edge ride but I knew it was a little too much for them to handle. It was fun to watch people’s faces as they dropped over the side.
We kept to some of the less intense rides like Tropical Drop, Runaway Raft Ride, Raging Rapids and the Cyclone Zone. Although Joe did try out one of the biggest and scariest rides at the park, the Twin Twisters. We had to take a short break from all the attractions due to a passing storm so we took the opportunity to order some pizza in our cabana.
Everyone had a blast and right around the time we were getting ready to leave another storm developed and they closed to park for the rest of the day. I was very impressed with how they staff worked to insure the safety of all the patrons. I felt like my kids were very safe the whole time we were there. The staff was courteous but also stuck to the rules to make sure everyone was safe and had a great time. Emerald Pointe is an older water park but you can tell they are constantly working to update and improve their facilities and staff so everyone has a great day at the park.
