My multi-purpose bedroom

Right now our Master bedroom is doing triple duty… First off as a master bedroom but due to our growing family we’ve had to utilize our space as much as possible.

Over a year ago I moved my desk and computer into the corner of the bedroom. It’s not ideal but I needed a space where I could work that was away from the kids. Unfortunately, my beloved MacBook died about 2 years ago and while we didn’t have the money to purchase a new laptop my husband did score me a sweet Mac Mini which means I’m tethered to a desk. This wouldn’t be so much of a big deal except Abel is also sharing a room with us.

We are a co-sleeping, bed-sharing family. It makes sleep so much easier but there are drawbacks. Whenever Abel takes a nap (which is at least 3 times a day) I tend to avoid the bedroom. This mean I don’t get to spend a lot of time at my computer, which means the limited time I do get I am usually working… on work stuff. So my poor blog has been neglected.

However, we plan to move around some kids in the near future (hopefully the next few weeks) so maybe Abel will take naps in his bedroom which means I get my bedroom back. Joe has also opened his office/guest bedroom to me for a work space.

We’ll eventually rearrange some stuff and use our space better… but ideally I’d love to move to a slightly bigger/better arranged house.

How do you manage keeping your house orderly and spaces divided?
