We love all things Marvel so when Netflix announced that they would be producing an exclusive Daredevil series we were pretty thrilled. From day one we’ve been hooked, pacing ourselves so we don’t binge watch the whole series.
Joe is the bigger Marvel fan so here is his opinion on the series:
Netflix’s new series Daredevil is by far the most faithful adaptation of the character to date. Instead of trying to make Daredevil into an overly brooding Batman-without-a-cape, the series presents a complex character in Matt Murdoch, who retains his optimistic idealism even as he grapples with difficult moral issues, and believes that the U.S. criminal justice system can work even as he operates outside of it. Also the fighting is really cool.
The series is the darkest, grittiest material that Marvel Studios has produced, and it is definitely not for kids, but it is distinctly Marvel. I’m excited to see how Daredevil ties in with the larger Marvel Universe, in the upcoming Defenders series (also on Netflix) and beyond.
