Summer is just a few weeks away and I have the job of keeping 3 busy little boys entertained. My plan is to take them to 1 or 2 local attractions each week of summer. Of course, our budget is tight so we’re looking for anything that is free (or almost free). I’ve compiled a list of Free things to do in or near Raleigh complete with links to details about the times and locations.

  1. Prairie Ridge Ecostation
  2. Greystone Recreational Center
  3. Durant Nature Preserve Sensory and Natural Play Garden
  4. State Farmer’s Market
  5. Durant Nature Park Wee Walkers Hike – Free but registration is required
  6. Learning with Legos at the East Regional Library
  7. Story Time at Wake County Libraries
  8. Tot Time – Open Gym at Marsh Creek Park + Green Road Park
  9. Barnes and Noble Story Time
  10. NC Museum of Natural Sciences
  11. North Hills Kids Open Play + Events
  12. Pullen Park
  13. Story Time for Tots at Lake Crabtree
  14. RDU Observation Park
  15. Raleigh Area Parks/Playgrounds (over 60 playgrounds)
  16. Waverly Place Splash Pad + Playground – Cary, NC
  17. Knightdale Station Park – Knightdale, NC

If you know of any additional story times, free play, or events for kids please let me know so I can add them to the list.
