Noah’s First Haircut with Wahl

·

I’ve been putting off giving Noah his first haircut for a while. I considered letting it grow out, but I just don’t have that kind of patience, plus he seemed annoyed by his long hair. When Wahl sent us their new Lithium Ion Clipper set, I took it as a sign to just give him a haircut.

I’ve cut Joe and Jude’s hair for a few years now and I’m not professional but I do a pretty decent job. I was previously using an old clipper set that my parents bought in the mid-70s (before I was born) so my mom could cut my dad’s hair when he was in the Air Force. The clipper still worked pretty well for being so old, but since they were over 30 years old, it meant a sketchy-looking plug (no ground), and occasionally, the guards would pop off. It was time for an upgrade.

So I put Noah in his booster seat and turn on his favorite show so I could cut his hair. He did wonderfully and I think his new haircut looks super cute.

Before and After Haircut

Clippers have made some pretty nice advancements over the past 30+ years and are much easier to use.

Features of the Wahl Lithium Ion Clippers

  • Cordless with rechargeable lithium ion batteries
  • Self-Sharping High-Carbon Steel Blades
  • Full-sized detail trimmer included in kit
  • Soft Storage Case
  • Full Accessory Set includes:
    • Cleaning Brush
    • Blade Oil
    • Scissors
    • Styling Comb
    • Barber Comb
    • Cape
    • Charger
    • 2 Hair Clips
    • Blade Guard
  • 10 Clipper Guide Combs plus Ear and Brow Tapper/Trim Guides

I like that the lithium ion rechargeable battery is quick to charge and lasts much longer than standard rechargeable batteries. Nothing is more frustration than having a battery die on you in the middle of cutting hair. I also like all of the accessories and guides that come standard with this set. Having quality tools really does impact the outcome of a haircut.

One of the benefits of cutting hair at home is saving money. We probably save a couple hundred dollars a year by cutting all of the boys’ hair at home. And a simple male haircut really isn’t that hard, especially if you use the great haircut tutorials that Wahl has available.
