If you enjoy American History you most certainly need to visit North Carolina, specifically Old Salem Museum and Gardens. Founded in 1766 by the Moravians, Salem offers you the chance to learn more about the life of Moravians and early Southerners living in the 18th and 19th centuries.
I love learning about the what life for American settlers must have been like. Visiting their homes, places of work and learning about the challenges they faced is always inspiring. I particularly love architecture and superb craftsmanship that was put into everything they did, it’s one of the reasons the buildings and crafts from that time are still around for us to enjoy. If you visit North Carolina I would most certainly add a stop to Old Salem on your itinerary.
