All-Day with Rockport Total Motion #PoweredbyHeels

Wearing heels while pregnant isn’t something that sounds appealing to me. The added weight of a baby and keeping up with 3 busy little boys typically pushes me to wear the most comfortable pair of shoes I can find. However, I recently checked out the Total Motion line from Rockport and found that heels can actually be comfortable, even when you’re pregnant.
Rockport Stretch Boot

Rockport Total Motion Stretch Boot

The Rockport Total Motion line is delivers ultimate flexibility and support without compromising style. The ADIPRENE® by adidas sport technology allow you to maintain your style all day long. The Total Motion Stretch Boot is perfect for fall with it’s full foot contact and support chasing children through the pumpkin patch never looked or felt so good.

Honestly, I was a little hesitant wearing a boot with a heel all day but once I put on the Total Motion Stretch Boots I could tell I would be comfortable no matter where life took me. The Rockport Total Motion Stretch Boot was easy to put on but maybe not so easy to take off once you’re fairly far along in pregnancy, but hey that’s what husband’s are for. Plus you won’t need to take them off often because they are super comfy. I was able to chase my boys around the park, play trains, visit the doctor, shopping, cook dinner and all the other demands of my busy mom life without a second thought to what was on my feet.

Maternity Fashion Trend: Colored Maternity Jeans

Colored Maternity Jeans
One of the fashion trends this fall is colored jeans.
Being pregnant doesn’t mean you have to miss out on this fun trend.
Above are a few of my favorite styles that vary in price from $30 – $200.
Now I don’t know if I could pull off the bright blue or red jeans but I’d totally rock the hunter green, plum and caramel jeans.
Would you wear colored maternity jeans?

Maternity Fashion: Fall Colors

Fall is right around the corner. There is a slight chill in the air, it’s awesome!

After what seemed like an endless summer I am so ready for fall.
Fall fashion is my favorite: scarves, sweaters, boots, orange, brown, and jackets galore.

This is my ultimate fall outfit.

Fall Maternity Fashion

I love everything about this outfit. Aside from the fact that the boots might be a bit difficult to put on at this point in pregnancy and I can’t actually wear bangle bracelets because I have giant man hands… I would totally wear this!

Maternity Fashion at a Blog Conference

Over the weekend I went to Chicago to attend the Brands and Bloggers Summit.

As an expecting mom with 2 young children to take care of I don’t get out much to go shopping for myself. I also don’t have a lot of money to spend on maternity clothes. But Borrow for Your Bump was gracious enough to sponsor my maternity wardrobe.

Borrow for Your Bump is a site that lets you rent designer maternity clothes for a fraction of the cost of purchasing them. (And if you really love the item you are renting you can buy it!) I love this idea and think it’s particularly useful especially if you have a special event to attend, like a blog conference, but don’t have a big budget to spend.

maternity stripe shirt On day 1 I went sightseeing around Chicago and wore this super cute Nolan striped t-shirt by Nom and comfortable Jimmy Jimmy in Rebel by Paige maternity jeans. This outfit is totally my style, comfortable and casual.

On day 2, the day of the conference, I stepped outside of my comfort zone a little with this Coral Chiffon Print top by Lilac and was very surprise by how much I loved it. I received many compliments on this top and will certainly be wearing it again. I paired it with a comfortable pair of Paige Jeans.

Later that evening I attending the after party and wanted to dress up a little so I wore the Ink Print Maxi Dress by Lilac. I loved this dress. It’s so comfortable and so flattering.

One of my favorite things about renting maternity clothes is it affords you the opportunity to try out clothes you like but might be afraid to purchase. I often go for very practical and timeless pieces and steer clear of trendy maternity clothes just for the sake of my investment. But you can go a little wild an rent clothes you might not actually purchase but would love to wear for a short time.

If you are pregnant or expecting to become pregnant at some point you should totally check out Borrow for Your Bump!

Maternity Fashion: Stripes

I have an addiction to stripes.

I try to branch out and try new patterns but I always come back to stripes.

Maybe it has something to do with my love for Tim Burton movies like Beetlejuice

… or maybe stripes are just awesome, even in maternity wear.

Here are some of my favorite striped maternity pieces:

Everly Grey Striped Maternity Tank Everly Grey Maternity – Tula Tank from Sierra Lane Maternity Clothing. Price: $40

Ma Cherie Striped Maternity Dress Ma Cherie Maternity Short-Sleeve Rouched Fashion Dress from Target. Price: $34.99

Striped Long Foldover Maternity Skirt Striped Long Foldover Waist Skirt from Gap. Price: $39.95

Maternity Slub-Knit V-neck Maternity Slub-knit V-neck Tee from Old Navy. Price: $5.00 (on sale)

Did You Know You Can Rent Maternity Clothes?

When I first heard about Borrow for Your Bump I had one of those, “Why didn’t I think of that!” moments. Such a smart idea!

Borrow for Your Bump logo Borrow for Your Bump lets you rent name-brand maternity clothing for a fraction of the cost to buy them. It totally makes since too, I mean you are only pregnant for a few months and by the time you get pregnant again your designer maternity jeans might be out of style.

The Borrow for your Bump site is simple to use, just browse by category and when you find an item you like you can either select to buy it or borrow it at 75% off the retail price.

Borrow For Your Bump Maternity Jeans I like these Paige brand jeans but $194 is a little out of my budget, especially for maternity jeans but for only $49/mo I can rent the same jeans. I think Borrow for Your Bump is especially handy if you have a special event you plan on attending. They have a nice variety of dresses that would be lovely if say, you were going on a cruise. (UPDATE: turns out you can’t go on a cruise after 24 weeks so let’s say you have a wedding to attend!)

For instance, I absolutely LOVE this dress:

Maternity Fashion: 4th of July

4th of July Maternity Fashion

I don’t know what the weather is like where you are but here in North Carolina it’s HOT. My outdoor thermometer was reading 119 the other day, in the shade. (granted that thermometer is old and may not be very accurate but still, it’s not too far off base.) So, with the 4th of July tomorrow and the weather still blazing hot I put together a fun maternity outfit that is not only fashionable but also light and breezy.
Most of the pieces in this outfit are from Old Navy, with exception to the hat and handbag, which means it’s all pretty affordable. I’m totally in love with the maxi-skirt. Navy chevron stripes? Yes please. I like the idea of the hat but don’t know if I could pull it off. Otherwise this outfit is down right perfect.

I highly doubt we will be going anywhere for the 4th this year. The boys go to bed before most fireworks start and it it’s going to be 1000 degrees I’d rather stay at home and watch them on TV. But I’ll pretend we went to a spectacular event and I wore this festive outfit.

Maternity Fashion: Accessories

Aside from the usual maternity clothes there are some great accessories that help make being pregnant a little easier. Here are a few items I think are worth the investment (I actually own most of these things!)

Maternity Belly Band

Ingrid and Isabel Bellaband -The Bellaband gives you the option to still wear your favorite jeans even though you are pregnant. This is such a great product, it can literally save you hundreds of dollars. Price: $28

Maternity Under Shirt Blush Under Shirt – While the Blush Under Shirt may look similar to the Bellaband if functions differently. The Blush Under Shirt offers additional fabric below your regular shirt without the bulky look of a tank top or camisole. I find that I use my Blush Under Shirt often after pregnancy to hide my post-baby belly while nursing. Price: $5.99

Maternity Hospital Gown Hot Mama Gowns – When it’s time to go to the hospital to meet your new little babe, you still want to look cute. I mean you won’t look all that cute while you’re pushing the baby out, making all kinds of ungodly faces but you can feel fashionable in the Hot Mama Gown. Price: $89

Maternity Sleeping Pillow Boppy Wedge – I love my Boppy Wedget Pillow! I use it to support my big belly while I sleep and it makes such a huge difference! Price: $14.99

Maternity Belly Support Power Mama Spanx – I don’t actually own these but I wish I did. Power Mama Spanx offer all of the typically slimming support of Spanx with additional belly support for your growing baby. Price: $32

What is your favorite maternity accessory?
