Yesterday my 2nd baby turned 5. We celebrated with a trip to the NC Zoo and at he request we spent the majority of our trip in the KidZone playing. Noah requested to see giraffes and chimpanzees and play. Thanks to our Zoo Membership we didn’t have to wait in the huge general admission line and we didn’t feel obligated to see everything.
We saw ostriches, zebras and Noah got to feed the giraffe. Well he had the opportunity but got a little freaked out by the gigantic animal so Joe fed it instead. We visited with the chimpanzees, ate lunch and rode the tram to the other side of the zoo. There we spent the remainder of the day playing in the creek, building forts and exploring. The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast.
Then we headed home where Noah opened presents, we ate dinner and cake. Then he elected to play video games until bed time. He had such a great day he didn’t want to go to bed but once his head hit the pillow he was out.
I’m so thankful for my sweet 5 year old boy. He has such a tender heart, speaks works of encouragement to everyone and always tells such amazingly creative stories. I love sitting with him and talking about life. He’s very observant, caring, sensitive and thoughtful.
Happy Birthday Noah! I love you.
