Summer Bucket List: Road Trip

This past weekend we took a day trip to Wrightsville Beach. I had listed several beach related items on our summer bucket list but of the sake of playing fair I’ll only count this as 1, Going on a Day Trip.

road trip to beachI love the beach and I always try to get our family out to the beach at least once during the summer. Since we only live about 2 hours away from the coast it’s not too unrealistic a goal. We particularly love Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach because they have so many great restaurants and shops that most small beach towns can’t afford.

We are also blessed to have friends in the area, like my lovely friend Amy who graciously let us park at her family’s beach house so we didn’t have to pay for parking. She also invited us over to visit with her family (in Wilmington) and let our boys meet her horses and chickens. I’m pretty sure Jude thought he’d won the lottery getting to go to the beach and feed horses and chickens!

horses and noahI didn’t take as many pictures as I would’ve liked but it was like 106 degrees that day and I was primarily concerned with keeping hydrated. Plus my phone battery died. 🙁

lunch at docksideThey boys had a great time playing in the water and sand.
We had a blast visiting with friends (and making new ones) and of course eating some really good food!

I hope we can make it to the beach again before summer ends.
